We are delighted to let you know that we are a finalist in the Tesco Bags of Help Grant Scheme. Our project a Caribbean Heritage Garden is now open for the customer vote in Tesco stores during December.

We are asking you to vote for the Caribbean Heritage Garden one of the projects of the SKN Heritage Museum.  You can do this by shopping at Tesco and asking for a Blue Token for the Charity vote. You can spend as little as £1 to get a token so please shop often or if you spend a large amount ask for a larger number of Blue Tokens.

What is a Caribbean Heritage Garden?

The garden will introduce the public to the rich heritage of Nottingham as an outcome of the diversity of its residents.

The skills and knowledge of its Caribbean people’s as regards horticulture and agriculture will be the focus of the Heritage Garden. This information and experience will be shared in training sessions, information boards, and the type of plants and shrubs planted.

The garden items and furniture will reflect the Caribbean and form part of training sessions to encourage people to grow food and enjoy the new skills developed

The local community and existing community centre user groups welcome the opportunity to have improvements made to the outdoor space for social events and outdoor eating, relaxing and peaceful enjoyment, improving intergenerational social cohesion.
